Awaiting the lease

After many years of campaigning and fund raising the Wheelock Community Association is now awaiting completion of the lease agreement with the Church of England handing over responsibility for The Old School to the WCA for conversion to a village hall.

At the moment there is little more to report but this website will be updated as soon as more information is available.

Road Safety.

There have been numerous accidents in Wheelock over the years since the by-pass opened. Many of these are down to local drivers because most through traffic now avoids the village. Slow down! There's a thirty mile an hour speed limit and it does not just apply to other drivers, it applies to YOU. Put your lights on in fog, falling snow or heavy rain. Do not park where it is illegal and unsafe to do so. This is particularly dangerous for pedestrians, especially those with pushchairs, there are safe parking spcaes in the village - PLEASE USE THEM.
